Yes, I am a fifty-something who has embraced nineties technology; I do Internet and e-mail. But what about some of us who do-not. Like OUR parents. My mom has a cell-phone and somehow manages to get it to the desired contact about 80% of the time. But with arthritic hands it's a struggle. I have been a T-mobile subscriber for plus years and have been satisfied with the service. Now, fast-forward to this week. I get my and there's a box that says "Important notice". I it says that if I want to continue receiving paper bills, I be charged an extra $ per month. I to ask (politely) how I am to know my charges due and due date if I elect to 'go paperless'. The perky thing say all I need do is go "on-line". I ask again as-if I didn't hear this. She goes-on to say I can set it up to receive an "e-mail" that alert me that my is now available "on-line". I ask if the pertinent info be contained in the e-mail. Perky says no, the e-mail just tells me that I can go "on-line" to view my. I tell her to set me up for paperless and put me on-record that I am unhappy with this change. So, the upshot is, if you are a senior with no access, or inclination to use the Internet, or suffer from poor eyesight or mobility troubles manipulating your handset to retrieve the info from T-zone, you are going to be taxed a a and a half for the privilege of getting your in the mail. I think this sucks and discriminates against the elderly. I know my mom can not navigate the 'net, nor is she able to finagle getting the info via her handset. So oldies are thrown under the technology bus again. Thanks T-mobile for your reverence and understanding of us old-folks.
