Went through college and took care of my horniness myself. Read a LOT of books on being, coming out, sex, etc. I figured out what I wanted and how to go about it before I did it. I "came out" to my parents and they were great. I told my whole family and about 30-40 friends over a 3 month period. All were face to face over coffee or a meal. Once I told my parents, I started dating. I didn't want to have to hide or sneak around. I met people through ads and internet dating sites and some through friends. My main goal was that I wanted a relationship for life. I didn't stray from that goal. I would suggest responding to ads or dating services via or phone. Get to know the guys you're going to meet before you meet them. Meet somewhere that is condusive to talking and getting to know someone (like a coffee house, a quiet restaurant, etc.). Be up front with dates. Tell them you are looking for a term relationship. If they are just looking for sex or they are a freak or they are just not into you it become abundantly clear very quickly. If they want to continue going out with you and you are not into them be honest. I made several good friends this way. Over 1 years, I went out on about 50-70 dates with different guys. Almost all were at coffee houses and we had emailed and talked on the phone for 1-2 weeks prior to going out. I was a marathon dater. Sometimes I had 3 dates a week. I usually knew within an hour or two whether I wanted to a guy again. Usually I didn't. I lost my virginity to about the 40th guy I dated. A good experience. We were together for about 3 months. He proved to be a nut case. I ended it. I dated for several months after that and met. We met via an internet dating site. He was great and patient and we got to know each other for about 2 month before we had sex. ~~~ We have been together for over 6 years. We are a monogamous couple and totally in. More now than when we first met. Sex gets more incredible as we get older and our relationship deepens. AMAZING!!! Find someone who wants what you want. don't be needy or accept something you don't want. Find someone that communicate with you. If you can't talk to a person about everything how can you be intimate or honest or live your entire life with them. Okay, that's my advice and this is how I did it. It's hard for you (or inexperienced guys) to fathom how a girl can't be interested in him when she's spending so much time with him.
